PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT
EDI enabled VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory)

The Volume 5 - Issue 4 RockySoft newsletter introduced the vSync RockySoft partnership and our joint development of a VMI/EDI solution. This month's newsletter will highlight some of the specific product features of the new application.

Our EDI enabled VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) solution will automate the entire process of managing inventory at your customers store locations. The application will use the EDI 852 transaction as the basis for monitoring the movement of product at each Point of Sale (POS) site. After the timely receipt of this information we will analyze this data and will automatically generate the sales order for replenishing product at each store location. In addition, the application will scientifically determine when stocking levels need to be adjusted to account for changes in product sales. For example, there is a seasonal spike in sales that requires an increase in the volume of product on the shelf for a 2 month period. This will ensure that the retailer is meeting desired sales objectives with a minimum amount of inventory. This will enable your customer (retailer) to increase sales revenue with no additional staffing and inventory cost.

The benefit to you is a picture of future sales for ensuring that you have the correct product on order to meet the projected sales demand for each POS location. It will also eliminate the need for time intensive analysis required to establish stocking levels and replenish product. Furthermore each of these activities is seamlessly integrated to the Sales and Order Processing and invoicing functions in Great Plains. There is no need for additional manual entry of information into your financial system. This will ensure that invoices are generated on a timely basis. The EDI enable VMI application will:

• Monitor inbound Store data using the EDI852 transaction (on hand balances, quantities sold, quantity available)
• Establish stocking levels for each store/POS (Point of Sale) location
• Monitor inventory availability at each store
• Trigger sales order to replenish stock at each POS location
• Generate the sales order that triggers timely invoicing
• Forecast demand of sales at each Point of Sales store location
