Meet RockySoft's Version 8.2!

GMROI Measurement for Pricebreaks
A new yardstick for measuring item performance has been added in RockySoft - GMROI. This stands for Gross Margin Return on Investment, and is a commonly used measurement for tracking an item's usefulness to your bottom line.

Version 8.2 includes updates such as the following: Improved Charting and Cubes, Improved Vendor Minimum Specifications, Default PO Comments & Custom PO Prefixes, Historical Sawtooth Display, and Additional Classing Criteria in EOM.   Below is a thumbnail of the "nifty-beans" (according to our software developer, Jake) improvements to the Sawtooth Curve pop-up available in the Order Scheduler in Requirements Planner - it allows showing the entire history of an item's on hand, supplies, demands, safety stocks, etcetera.  Nice visual picture of how you (and RockySoft!) have done managing an item's inventory over time.   Click the image below for an expanded view:   Sawtooth Thumbnail

A Noteworthy New Development to EOM

We've had a lot of folks ask for the ability to "what if" how their inventory would be affected when they change ABC classes, or when they change their service level goal settings.  The new Service Level Analysis screen provides that data for them, which they do can do on the fly, without affecting the purchasing order schedules.   This is very much like an on-the-fly inventory analysis, but with a whole lotta good stuff pre-calculated for the user.

As an added bonus, when you update class or service level information during the day, not only will DM recalculate safety stocks based on the new settings as well as get that updated class info, it will then push those back to Requirements Planner, and Requirements Planner will recalculate your order schedules and suggestions based on the new safety stocks. It only does this  for the items affected by the change, and does so in a separate thread, so it is very fast, and transparent to the user.

Whizzy.
