Create Opportunities in Difficult Economic Times
Six Steps to Effective Inventory Management
Given the economic state that we are currently faced with, companies are forced to look at many cost saving strategies to help maintain profitability. Organizations can take two different approaches with regard to inventory. They can assume it is a necessary evil and implement a special inventory reduction program whenever cash gets tight. Or they can make strategic decisions on the level to carry, put an active inventory management process in place and continually improve the business results. Following the active inventory management strategy helps create world class lean inventory.
Inventory should be viewed as cash that could have been spent in other ways. Anything above what the customer needs is waste. Unfortunately accounting treats it as an asset. But as anyone that has dealt with inventory knows, storing it, counting it, finding it, and picking it becomes much harder as the inventory grows. Below are the six steps we recommend to move from reactive inventory management to lean, active inventory management.

| PRODUCT HIGHLIGHT |
Version 9.2 - Low and Intermittent Demand Stocking Strategies
Items with intermittent usage, such as service parts, are very difficult to forecast and stock for. With 9.2, RockySoft introduces its Bootstrap Safety Stock for intermittent-use items. This method can take a very blocky, sparse data set, and compute a safety stock value for your desired service level, where traditional safety stock methods can fall short.
Schedule a personal demonstration of these new features today by contacting Jeffrey Porter at (877) 493-0868 or by email at jporter@rockysoft.com.

Give Blood. Play Hockey!
And that's just what RockySoft's very own Todd Warnygora did! This February, Todd took part in the 3rd Annual Beavercup Ice Hockey Tournament in Beaver Creek, Colorado. The tournament consisted of 18 4-person teams and proved to be a weekend packed full of excitement. After the 3-day tournament came to a close, Todd returned to RockySoft with a few minor cuts, bumps and bruises but was proud to announce that his team made it all the way to the consolation championship game...not bad considering they were up against several teams made up of semi-professional players! To find out more about this tournament please visit www.fcphl.net.
